Welcome to Williamsburg Art Conservation

Williamsburg Art Conservation Inc. was founded in 2003 by Tom Snyder. A furniture maker for 8 years, Tom studied furniture design and proportions before receiving a BA in Art History and a MA in Art Conservation, both from Buffalo State College. An post-graduate internship and several subsequent years were spent working in the furniture conservation lab of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

Today, Tom treats wooden artifacts and gilded frames owned by museums and private clients alike with the level of care and sensitivity that are expected and demanded by conservation professionals. Tom holds Professional Associate status in the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works.
